21st Century belonged to India: Jyotiraditya Scindia

Pune, Sep 2 : India has the capabilities to lead this 21st Century, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said here on Friday.

He was speaking to a program “Festival of Thinkers” a Lecture Series which was organised by Symbiosis International University here on Friday.

Scindia, Minister for Civil Aviation and Minister of Steel, was the “Guest Speaker” for the Lecture Series. The Lecture Series conducted in the august Presence of Chandrakant Patil, Minister, Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.

Speaking at the occasion, Scindia said: “My objective is to do a Public, Social Service and not to do Politics, but politics is the medium through which I can do Social Service.”

During his speech he gave valuable advice to the students about Leadership. He said, a Good Leader should have certain qualities which makes him a Good Leader. He must have a “Vision”, ability to set up a Goal and the ability to set up a direction towards achieving that Goal. He must have courage and commitment, and it should come from your heart. A Good Leader must be Optimistic. Leadership is about multiplicity, plurality. A Good Leader must learn to balance a Team Spirit within himself. Remember that Progress cannot be achieved without a conflict. A Conflict of Ideas, conflict of Interest, conflict of aspirations. Failure is an important part of success. Learn from your failure and move ahead, Scindia said.

Talking about the teaching method in our country Scindia said, Pedagogy is important, Class Room teaching is important but Experiential Learning is more important in the process of learning. After you graduate your life starts, so make the maximum use of this learning period of your life. Do more internships while you are studying, gather more and more experiences that will help you in the future.

Talking about the Civil Aviation in the country, Scindia said, the potential of Civil Aviation is huge in our country. In the half year we have started 9 Flying Training Schools in the country, so the number of training schools has gone up.

Scindia said also stated that he has written to the 22 Chief Ministers of the States to reduce the VAT on the ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) and has received a positive response from them. This will surely give a boost to the Aviation Industry.
