Puducherry, July 10 : The Union Territory has recorded 129 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM on Sunday, taking the Covid infection tally to 1,67,660 in the Union Territory.
The fresh Covid cases today are six more registered on Saturday.
A release from the health department here said, of the 1,603 swab tests conducted yesterday, the reports of 129 persons turned out to be positive for Coronavirus.
109 new cases were reported in Puducherry region,18 in Karaikal and two in Yanam regions.
About 83 persons were treated and discharged in the last 24 hours.
So far, 1,67,660 persons are infected by Covid-19, of which 1,64,867 patients were treated and discharged, 1,962 people died and presently there are 831 active cases in the UT.
Out of the total 831 active cases, 821 persons were taking treatment under home isolation and ten patients are in hospitals in all the four regions of the Union Territory.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 8.05 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.17 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.33 per cent.
As many as 17,56,053 doses of Covid vaccine were so far administered to healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public in the Union Territory.(UNI)
