12,622 Vykuntadhamams constructed in 12,769 GPs in Telangana : Minister

Hyderabad, Oct 5 : Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today informed the Assembly that 12,622 Vykuntadhamams and 12,737 village dumping yards (segregation sheds) were constructed in 12,769 Gram Panchayats in the state so far.
Replying to a question raised by the members in the house during question hour, Mr Rao said that 147 Vykuntadhamam works and 32 Segregation sheds works were leftover and it would be completed by the end of current month.
The Minister said Rs 1,547 crore was spent for Vykuntadhamams and Rs 319 crore for village dumping yards (segregation sheds).
He said as per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the state government has utilized the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) funds in a best way for constructions of Vykuntadhamams and village dumping yards, parks and nurseries in the Gram Panchayats across the state.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the initiative and complemented the Chief Minister, Mr Rao said the state government has released equal amounts of MGNREGA funds for the constructions of Vykuntadhamams and Village dumping yards.(UNI)
