By FY32, India’s infrastructure spending will surpass $2.5 trillion, according to Adani

MUMBAI, JUNE 19 :  India’s cumulative spend on infrastructure will exceed US$ 2.5 trillion by fiscal 2031-32, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani said on Wednesday.

“In terms of numbers, our estimates show that by the end of FY32, the year India has targeted to become a 10 trillion-dollar economy, the cumulative spend on infrastructure will exceed 2.5 trillion dollars,” Adani said in his address at Crisil’s annual infrastructure summit.

He further said that while every conventional infrastructure sector continues to show strong growth, the Adani Group is quite excited about infrastructure to enable energy transition, and digital infrastructure.

“The rapid shift to renewable energy sources, coupled with the digitization of industries, is not just a technological evolution but also a profound transformation of our entire society,” Adani said.

The top industrialist noted that the dynamic intersection between the two emerging infra segments is driving innovation in energy efficiency, smart grids, and green technologies, and unlocking new value chains.

“And as data centres and digital infrastructure demand more energy, the push for sustainable solutions becomes even more critical,” he said.

He added, “The scale of opportunities that these new transformations present for businesses in India is expected to be in trillions of dollars over the next three decades.”

Adani Group chief stated that the company is making massive investments in both the areas of digital infrastructure and energy transition.

“The next decade will see us invest more than 100 billion dollars in the energy transition space and further expand our integrated renewable energy value chain, that today already spans the manufacturing of every major component required for green energy generation,” he said.(UNI)
